Named for the Monarch Butterfly, La Monarca was born from a simple dream: bridging cultures through the sweet flavors of Mexico. Our founders brought their childhood memories of authentic treats from their homeland to the taste buds of Angelenos.

What started as one bakery has grown to 12 locations across LA—all staying true to our handcrafted, from-scratch approach. No shortcuts, no preservatives, just fresh ingredients and recipes that honor tradition.

Helping people & the planet

The Monarch Butterfly is both our namesake and our inspiration. These incredible creatures travel thousands of miles between Mexico and the U.S., connecting our two cultures just like we do through food.  

We donate 1% of our packaged goods sales to ECOLIFE Conservation, supporting communities in Michoacán, Mexico where Monarch Butterflies spend their winters. Local families there often cut down trees that butterflies need for shelter, using the wood to cook meals and heat their homes.

Our partnership helps provide sustainable alternatives, protecting both the butterflies and the families who share their forest home.
