ON MONARCH BUTTERFLY CONSERVATION
To further our efforts, and the efforts of anyone wanting to protect the monarch butterflies, La Monarca Bakery now offers milkweed seed packets (sp. Asclepias Fascicularis) which is native to the Southern California region and is a crucial food source for the Monarchs. (4)
CALIFORNIA MILKWEED
A crucial food source for monarch butterfly caterpillars, the milkweed is a California native that can be easily and safely planted in the region. Germination is simple: grab a damp paper towel and spread your seeds evenly. Cover the seeds and place in a plastic bag at room temperature. The seeds should sprout in a few days and once the roots become visible and the green leaves begin to show, plant them in your garden or even a pot outside!
