Make Your Own Pride Polvorones
Written by Baggio Ardon
If you're Mexican, you're certainly used to lots of bright colors. We have rainbows everywhere, from sarape steering wheel covers to abuela's flower garden to the bright pink, blue, and green walls of you and your cousins' bedrooms. At least that's how it was for me growing up (and let's face it, the sarape steering wheel is so aesthetic). For me, the bright colors of Pride Month were more nostalgic than anything. But for a culture so steeped in color, things relating to Pride are few and far between.
So let's make our own yeah? My personal favorite, super easy DIY are Pride Polvorones invented by our very own Monarca staff! Over in the Hollywood Monarca, creative staff used the Polvorones like a blank-canvas and created authentically Mexican, rainbow cookies. Here's how they did it!
Pride Polvorones
Ingredients
- 1 bag of La Monarca Polvorones
- 2 drops any color liquid food color
In a small resealable plastic bag, combine polvorones and a few drops of food coloring. Seal bag and shake to tint the sugar. Allow cookies to dry on flat surface for 15-20 minutes before using!
