3 EASY Mexican Valentine's Dessert Recipes

Valentine's Day is dedicated to the idea of love – for yourself, your significant other, for your friends and family. Love can mean extravagance or something small and simple. The language of love is universal, but here at La Monarca Bakery, it's 100% Amor Mexicano. We'll show you how to show a little love this Valentine's day with 3 simple DIY recipes:

Chocolate Mexicano Budino

In this simplified recipe, we're taking this Italian classic and Mexicanifying it with our signature Chocolate Mexicano mix (yes, the one featured on Forbes!) and the Chocolate Mexicano cookies!
You'll need:
4 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 1/2 cups of milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Whipped cream
Chocolate Mexicano cookies
In a pan, stir the sugar, chocolate mix, and cornstarch, and slowly stir in the milk until smooth. Bring to a boil on low heat and cook until thickened (approx 2 minutes). Mix in vanilla extract and chill. Once it's ready, add to a glass, top with whipped cream, and finish with a cookie crumble garnish!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Conchas

This one is the easiest of the three recipes. All you need is a pack of our Amorcito Strawberry mini conchas and some melting chocolate! If you want to step it up a notch, try making our Chocolate Mexicano Ganache (trust us, it's worth it!)
Follow the directions of your melting chocolate, dip, and let cool on parchment paper or a plate.
You can garnish the conchas before they cool with crushed dried raspberries, Chocolate Mexicano mix/cookie crumbles, or even rose petals!

Chocolate Covered Oaxaca Expresso Beans

Something about chocolate and coffee screams romance, especially in the morning. Luckily, it's super easy. You only need two ingredients: melting chocolate and a bag of whole bean Oaxaca Reserve Coffee
Melt the chocolate according to the directions (you can even add some Chocolate Mexicano Mix!), pour as many whole espresso beans as you like into your cup, and mix well. Then pour it onto some wax paper and let it cool in the freezer. Once they've hardened, break them up and keep them cool!
It's the perfect sweet snack for an energy boost, just don't eat too many at once!

Valentine's dates don't have to be expensive dinners or romantic getaways. Sometimes, it's a cup of cafe de olla and a concha with the people you love most. If you want more ideas for Valentine's Day, check out DatingAdvice.com's article on how else you can celebrate the holiday with La Monarca!
