ROSA MEXICANA HOT CHOCOLATE
First cultivated in China around 5,000 years ago, roses have made their way into Europe and to Mexico where it remains a beloved symbol of love, faith, and heavily associated with La Virgen de Guadalupe. You can invoke the feeling
of light and romance into almost anything using a dash of edible rose petals.
Rosa de Castilla is especially popular and loved for its beautiful magenta and cream hues.

The perfect DIY recipe that includes items you most likely already have – cream and coffee. We made ours using our signature Cafe de Olla or Oaxaca Reserve and almond milk creamer. All it takes is a dollop of cream, one flick inwards using any utensil, and you have a heart!
CHOCOLATE MEXICANO MUG CAKE
One of the easiest, and sweetest, ways to say “Te amo mucho” is with a mug cake. It’s simple: flour, milk, butter, baking soda, and 4 tablespoons of our Chocolate Mexicano mix! Whisk them well, microwave for 5 minutes, and you’re done! Top off with some powdered sugar and crushed raspberries for added romance!
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 4 tbsp of La Monarca’s Chocolate Mexicano
- 2 tbsp melted butter
HOT CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
France could've had the perfect dessert garnish had they only used our Chocolate Mexicano mix! The recipe is even easier. All you need is:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream)
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 4 tbsp of La Monarca's Chocolate Mexicano mix
Beat the whipping cream until it begins to thicken, then add the rest of the ingredients until soft peaks form. That's all! Use it to top off pretty much anything on this list, and beyond!
CHOCOLATE MEXICANO PANCAKES
Almost the same as the mug cake, but this one is for breakfast! Mix your pancake batter according to the box, and add a tablespoon of our Chocolate Mexicano Mix y ya! Top off with some fresh strawberries and you’re set for a wonderfully romantic day.
HOT CHOCOLATE COCKTAIL
Valentine’s Day just wouldn’t be complete without a luxurious cocktail to end the night. Why settle for your average spiked hot chocolate when you could go for a tequila-spiked Chocolate Mexicano instead!
Easy. All you’ll need is:
- 3 cups of milk (any kind will do)
- 3 tbsp of La Monarca’s Chocolate Mexicano
- One pinch of salt (un chirris no mas)
- 2 oz of Tequila
Boil the milk and blend or whisk all the ingredients together! In less than 5 minutes, you’ve got the perfect Chocolate Mexicano cocktail. Our secret: sprinkle some ground cinnamon and nutmeg on top for that added umph!
